Look no further than this innovative summer research program from the University of Glasgow, which is consistently ranked among the UK’s top universities. This program offers a variety of summer research projects in biology, chemistry, geographical and earth sciences, psychology, and physics. Such work and experience shouldn't interrupt your academic schedule at home and will resonate strongly with both employers and graduate schools.
The impressive array of research topics ranges from numerical modeling to the synthesis of molecular compounds and laser stabilization. Specific research projects are available in geographical and earth sciences, chemistry, physics, psychology and biology. Such intensive study abroad is an invaluable experience for a resume or indeed for graduate school.
Past research projects include: Using C. Elegans as a Model Organism for Genetic Screens; Chemical Robotics; The Beta Pen; Langton Ant Math Project; Bedrock Erosion by Moving Grains: Direct Measurements Using Intelligent Pebble.
This is a highly competitive program with limited places so please apply early to increase your chances of acceptance onto the program.
You will engage in faculty supervised, hands-on research projects with results that will culminate in the preparation of a research paper.
Faculty mentors will work closely with you to direct your continued growth and knowledge development in the chosen research topic discipline.
The Arcadia Edinburgh Center staff will be on-hand to support you and ensure that you also find time to engage with Scottish people and culture, strengthening your understanding of this fascinating country.
The International Summer School at the University of Glasgow has a full social program of extra-curricular activities to help you find your feet in Scotland and enjoy the local attractions. Such activities may include a trip into the Highlands, visits to Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument, day trips to Edinburgh, the Fife Coast and St. Andrews as well as movie nights, quizzes and other social gatherings.
