Arcadia aims to help students for whom financial assistance can mean the difference between participating on an Arcadia program and staying home. Arcadia scholarships are awarded to eligible applicants based on need.

Approximately 70% of study abroad students who apply for aid from Arcadia receive some form of award. Some of this information does not apply to students attending Arcadia University. If you are an Arcadia student, please visit this page.

In addition to the Arcadia Study Abroad Scholarship, you are encouraged to pursue other scholarship opportunities.
Each term, the foundation awards up to three $4,000 scholarships. To be eligible for this scholarship, students must be participating on a program lasting 14 weeks or longer.
Students receiving a Pell Grant may be eligible for this scholarship, which provides up to $5,000 for any semester abroad, including summer.
Gilman Scholars are able to use their awards to support credit-bearing virtual international opportunities taking place between now and December 31, 2021, including virtual international internships. This excellent news, released June 9, is very positive for students considering an international study or internship experience this fall.

Gilman scholarship recipients who apply for an Arcadia Scholarship are guaranteed a scholarship of at least $1,000 from us for semester and year programs and $500 for summer programs.
The Fund for Education Abroad (FEA) offers scholarships to students studying abroad. The foundation has a strong preference for, but is not limited to, students studying a foreign language, participating in an academically rigorous program, attending in a non-traditional destination, and/or representing an under-represented group for education abroad, such as a minority or a community college student.
The Gilman-McCain Scholarship provides awards of $5,000 for child dependents of active duty service members to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs. More information can be found here.

If you attend a university of college with an active Phi Kappa Phi chapter, you may apply for a study abroad grant. Fifty $1,000 grants are awarded for the fall semester and twenty-five for the spring semester. You can view this list to see if your institution has a chapter.
This scholarship, provided by the Daughters of the British Empire, is offered to female students with British or Commonwealth of Nations ancestry. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0. To be eligible, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Recipients receive up to $25,000 towards program expenses along with a stipend of $2,500.
The Committee on Diversity in the Profession of the Society for Classical Studies offers this scholarship opportunity to minority students pursuing classical studies on summer, semester or year programs. It is applicable to the Arcadia in Greece and Arcadia in Greece Summer programs.
To encourage greater diversity and minority participation in study abroad, this scholarship is available for students from Historically Black Colleges & Universities who study abroad at NUI Galway. Eligible students can apply online here. The winner will receive a €6,000 grant.
This scholarship awards deserving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) students who aim to participate in high-quality, rigorous education abroad programs. Awards are up to $10,000.

The Society of St. George provides this funding opportunity for students from the Philadelphia area participating on an Arcadia program in England. Eligible students must, have English ancestry, financial need and be from the Philadelphia area (usually one of the adjacent counties in Pennsylvania, New Jersey or Delaware).
This scholarship is for students applying to the Kings College London program.
King’s College offers several Study Abroad Excellence Scholarships to distinguished study abroad students in the Faculties of Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences and Public Policy, and Natural and Mathematical Sciences. Students participating on the LSE program may apply for this scholarship after they have been admitted to the program. Scholarship awards can be upwards of £20,000. Awards are given primarily on the basis of financial need; though academic merit will also be taken into account.

The Italian Language Scholarship is offered to American citizens of Italian descent, in their junior or senior year of undergraduate study, majoring or minoring in Italian language studies. This award is not specifically for study abroad, but it can be used for study abroad.
New Zealand Education offers two scholarship opportunities to help Arcadia students fund their study abroad experience.
This merit-based scholarship is offered to students studying abroad in the United Kingdom for a semester or year. Eligible students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the value of international education.

The Scottish Universities International Summer School is offering students a £500 scholarship for attending any of the Summer 3 course options. This scholarship is a need-based award for US students who wish to apply for the four-week SUISS Creative Writing program or the six-week Text and Context program. This scholarship is awarded to one student annually in honor of 2007 SUISS alumna, Amy Shypailo. Amy cherished her summer in Edinburgh, and this scholarship carries on her memory by helping deserving students have the life-changing experience of studying abroad.
The scholarship will cover, either partially or in-full (based on need), the course and accommodation fees for Creative Writing or Text and Context, with the option of both in-person or online study.
Applications for this scholarship are now invited from undergraduate students from the US with a GPA of 3.5 or above who identify as women.

An initiative of the National Security Education Program, Boren Scholarships are awarded with preference for countries, languages, and fields of study critical to U.S. national security. Preference is also given to students who will study abroad for longer periods of time, and who are highly motivated by the opportunity to work in the federal government.

The following scholarships are offered by commercial organizations. These scholarships are usually open to full-time, undergraduate students who will be studying abroad. Generally, you will need to submit an essay on a travel-related topic and you must be over the age of 18 and a citizen or permanent resident of the United States to be eligible.
