The rich culture of Dublin experienced through the lens of a summer internship

Placement options include: corporates or non-profits in arts & culture; business, finance & Economics; international relations; health & social services; marketing, PR & advertising; tourism & recreation; and NGOs.

This eight-week summer program includes a six-week internship placement at a leading Irish company or non-profit organization. In addition to the internship, you’ll take one elective course from a choice of three: Ireland: From Union to Bailout - An Economic and Social History since 1800; Doing Business in Ireland; and Business Analytics and Finance Project. This course is taught intensively during the first week of the program. The program culminates in a research project, based on your work experience, which you present to faculty and your peers at UCD. Near the end of your placement, you will have a debriefing session to help you effectively review and analyze your professional experience.

An essential element of the program is for you to experience Irish society and culture through an extensive series of excursions and field study in Dublin and across the island of Ireland. Typical activities may include: a Wicklow Mountain Walk, a hurling match, a trip to the West of Ireland, a castle tour, Irish dancing and traditional Irish music.
