At JCU Townsville, you will live in a residential college. Residential life is very active; you can participate in social events, club sports and other organized activities. Many halls are actively involved in the Fisher Shield, an intercollegiate sports competition held every semester.
George Roberts Hall
Built in 2002, George Roberts Hall provides fully-catered housing. Students will have a single room in three and four bedroom air-conditioned suites, each with a small kitchenette and common lounge. Students are provided with a linen pack upon arrival. Students enjoy access to the facility’s volleyball, half basketball courts and swimming pool, all located within a short walk from campus.
Rotary International House
One of the smaller residential colleges at JCU, Rotary International House provides a social atmosphere that celebrates the cultural differences of its residents. The Resident Student’s Association organizes regular social and sporting events. There are numerous common areas, shared computer facilities and luscious gardens. Students at Rotary all have a single room in suite-style space, with a shared kitchen. This college is self-catering only and best suited for students with dietary restrictions. Students are provided with a linen pack upon arrival.
JCU’s largest residential college, University Hall offers students a fully-catered meal plan. Students are housed in single rooms that open out onto shared halls with shared bathrooms, common areas and kitchenettes. Located in the center of campus, University Hall also offers a volleyball court for its residents and organizes many social activities throughout the semester. Linen is provided.
