Queensland University of Technology Courses

You’ll take a full credit load of 16 U.S. semester hours of credit, which translates to 48 units at QUT.

  • Please review your courses with your academic or study abroad advisor to ensure they will transfer back to your home school and that you are following your home school’s policies

  • Please be flexible – we can’t guarantee specific courses. If your participation in the program depends on a particular course, be sure to make a note on your online preferences form.

Special Considerations

QUT may request that you submit syllabi or an updated official transcript.

Choosing Your Courses

When selecting your courses from the QUT unit search, include at least 8-10 courses on your Academic Preferences Form.

  • From the drop-down menus choose the appropriate semester (Semester 1, U.S. Spring semester or 2, U.S. Fall semester) and discipline

  • Select the unit code or unit title to see the unit synopsis
  • To see the unit outline (syllabus) choose it from the drop down menu
  • Here you can see a list of subjects available to study abroad students
  • Select the appropriate drop down to see either approved units or units that require approval
  • For more detailed information, including a course description and link to the syllabus, click on the unit code or title

Course Approval

  • QUT will review your course form for approval.
  • Your Program Manager will email your course approvals.
    • This is included in your official QUT Offer Letter.
  • QUT opens their online enrollment process approximately 2-3 weeks prior to departure.

Enrollment Process

You will be able to access the QUT online enrollment portal using your username and password located in your previously emailed QUT Offer Letter. You are only able to enroll in courses listed as approved in your QUT Offer Letter. Through this online portal you will be able to finalize your enrollments and timetable.

The academic preferences form students submit to Arcadia prior to departure does not guarantee approval or enrollment in those courses. There is a drop/add period at the beginning of each semester that allows students to make changes to course enrollments. If you make any changes it is your responsibility to inform your home institution.

Be sure to bring an updated copy of your official transcript, your passport and COE with you to orientation sessions.

Miscellaneous

Possible additional fees for courses that include laboratory work, field excursions or theater trips. Many fine art or production courses will include a supplemental fee.

For studio art, graphic art, art media production, drama, dancing or music courses, you will need to submit a portfolio or audition tape to support your application. Submit a portfolio or audition tape on slides or a CD. Submit between 8-12 examples of your work. Portfolio is non-returnable.
