Housing at the University of Manchester is spread across three locations, two catered options and one self-catered facility. All locations have great access to campus and other parts of the city, either by bus or on foot, and are also close to the main train stations.
Hulme Hall occupies an enviable central location in Manchester, with the city center on one side and Victoria Park on the other. This provides "the best of both worlds," the nightlife and activity of the city with the proximity to campus and the spacious, leafy grounds and slightly quieter surroundings. Hulme Hall is also near Manchester’s famous “Curry Mile.”
Hulme Hall is large in size, comprising seven blocks, and containing ample on-site facilities. There you'll find a music room, bar and sports facilities, including a small gym and squash courts. Rooms are all single occupancy with shared bathroom facilities and include breakfast and a hot evening meal 7 days a week. It also includes regular formal dinners and an active community who organize a variety of social events and activities during the year. The commute to campus is a 12-15 minute walk.
Slightly further within the Victoria Park area than Hulme Hall, Dalton-Ellis Hall is located in a quieter, leafy area of the city with easy walking access from the main campus. It is a traditional-style college hall, with students housed in single rooms on corridors (rather than in shared apartments) with shared bathroom facilities, including breakfast and a hot evening meal 7 days a week. A limited number of en-suite rooms are also available.
Consisting of several blocks, Dalton-Ellis Hall has excellent on-site facilities including common areas; laundry facilities, a library; bike storage facility and sports courts. The commute to campus is a 15-18 minute walk.
Situated in the heart of the University, Whitworth Park is a sprawling collection of apartment blocks on Oxford Road, near the main university buildings and Manchester’s many attractions and nightlife. Whitworth Park is a self-catered facility, including an oven and kitchen facilities to cook your meals. Each apartment contains 6-9 single bedrooms with shared lounge and bathroom facilities. There are also ample communal facilities on site including a laundry, bar, squash courts and gym, within on-site security available.
