On this program, you will live in LSE university housing. You’ll settle in and learn to live as a true Londoner. Regardless of which of LSE’s residence halls you are assigned, you should expect a 15-45 minute commute to classes, which is very standard for living in a large city such as London.
When choosing your housing, it may be useful to refer to the map of LSE’s campus and residences—still, it’s best to be flexible and open-minded regarding where you will live!
Supplemental housing fees may apply if you are placed in a single room in any residence or if you are placed in a residence with a meal plan.
Located on the South Bank of the Thames, near the Tate Modern, Bankside House is a 25-minute walk from LSE. You’ll live in a single or twin room; some have private bathroom facilities and others share with one other room. Bankside House is a catered residence.
High Holborn is located in the Theatre District, near Oxford Street and Leicester Square; it’s a brisk 10-minute walk to LSE—and only a five minute walk to the Arcadia London Center. Northumberland House is located in a grand Victorian building in the heart of London, near Trafalgar Square, St. James’s Park, and the National Gallery—and it’s only a 10-minute walk from LSE. You’ll live in single or shared bedrooms in self-catered apartments, or flats, each with a shared kitchen. Northumberland House is a self-catered residence.
Rosebery Hall, located in trendy Clerkenwell—near Exmouth Market and the Sadler’s Wells Theatre—is a 25-minute walk from LSE. You’ll live in single or shared rooms with private shower and toilet. Rosebery Hall is a catered residence.
