On this program, you are guaranteed LSE housing in Central London. You will be fully integrated with LSE undergraduate students, giving you the opportunity to meet peers from over 150 countries. Regardless of which LSE hall you are assigned, you will be a 15-30 minute walk away from campus, which is a fantastic commute for such a large city like London.

Residences include:

  • Pillows, mattresses, and duvets are provided residence halls. You will need to provide your own bed linen and towels—we recommend purchasing them upon arrival in the UK
  • Laundry facilities and ironing equipment are provided in all residences
  • Common and computer rooms to study and socialize
  • Some housing includes a meal plan- see below for more detail

Other facilities are included and vary from each residence. Please read below for further guidance.

Choosing Your Housing

When applying for housing, your options are split into bands. LSE require you to rank six rooming options in order of preference from one of the bands below. Your options will be listed in your Housing Preference Form on Arcadia Passport. The specification of the room cannot be guaranteed in either band so flexibility is required. Both bands are detailed below.

Band One

  • Included in program base fee
  • All rooms are shared with an LSE student
  • All rooms have en-suite (private) bathrooms
  • There is a mix of catered and self-catered rooms
  • Locations: Bankside House, Northumberland House and Rosebery Hall

Band Two

  • Rooms in this band have varying supplemental fees*
  • All rooms are single occupancy
  • Majority of rooms have shared bathrooms
  • All rooms are catered
  • Locations: Bankside House and Rosebery Hall

LSE Housing Locations

When ranking your housing it is important to think about your priorities. What area would you ideally like to live? What is your budget? Would you prefer a meal plan? To help answer these questions, read the band descriptions above and the residence descriptions below.

Bankside House

Located on the South Bank of the Thames, near the Tate Modern, Bankside House is a 30-minute walk from LSE. Single and shared bedrooms are available, with a mix of en-suite (private) and shared bathrooms. Bankside House is a catered residence - your meal plan will consist of six dinners and one brunch each week, more details can be found here.

Northumberland House

Northumberland House is located in a grand Victorian building in the heart of London, near Trafalgar Square, St. James’s Park, and the Houses of Parliament. All this on your doorstep and you will only be a 15-minute walk from LSE. Single and shared bedrooms are available, all with shared kitchen facilities. Northumberland House is the only self-catered residence - no meal plans available.

Rosebery Hall

Rosebery Hall, located in trendy Clerkenwell—near Exmouth Market and the Sadler’s Wells Theatre— a 30-minute walk from LSE. Single and shared bedrooms are available, the majority with shared bathrooms. Rosebery Hall is a catered residence - your meal plan will consist of six dinners and one brunch each week, more details can be found here.

Please note, during the 2019/20 academic year, renovation works will be carried out in parts of Rosebery Hall and Bankside House. Works will be on weekdays and in office hours to limit disturbance. Please refer to the LSE housing pages for more details.
