Flights

You are responsible for arranging and purchasing your own flight. If you want to travel before or after your program dates please check your visa requirements.

You can book through our travel provider: Student Universe to receive discounted student fares on suggested available flights, or on individual student bookings.

Passport and Visa

If you do not have a passport, you must apply for one immediately. Your passport must be valid for six months from the end of your program, otherwise, you will need to renew your passport. Please visit the U.S. State Department travel pages for the most up-to-date information regarding passport application and fees.

All U.S. citizen students will enter the U.K. via the Visitor Route - Upon Arrival. You will receive immigration documents for this process from your Program Manager shortly before your departure.

Students who do not have U.S. citizenship may need to apply for a Visitor Route Visa in advance. You should work with your Program Manager if this applies to you. In applicable instances, we will alert you when you need to begin the process of applying for the visa. Arcadia will also provide you with some of the necessary documents. It is important that you do not start applying for your visa until we prompt you.

What to Expect When You Arrive in England

You will be met in the arrivals hall of London Heathrow Airport (LHR) by Arcadia staff and taken by bus to your Arcadia housing, where you can begin to settle in and do a bit of shopping before your on-site orientation begins that evening. A detailed Travel Guide and orientation schedule will be sent to you via email about two weeks prior to arrival. These will include information on where to meet Arcadia staff at the airport, emergency contact numbers, and a draft schedule of the orientation.

As a part of the program fee, Arcadia also organizes group transportation back to London Heathrow Airport (LHR) on the program end date.
