Providing a unique blend of location, integration, amenities, and service, the Arcadia housing in NUI Galway allows students to experience all of the opportunities available in the city and at the University. We traditionally house all of our NUIG students at either Gort na Coiribe or Corrib Village.  As you read the information below on these options, please also review the general Ireland accommodation information.

Gort na Coiribe

You will reside in townhouse style flats or apartment style flats with Irish and other American students. The number of residents may vary from three to eight, depending on the style of accommodation. You will share a room. Sometimes, single bedrooms are available at an additional cost. If interested in a single room, please note this on your housing preference form. Student flats may be co-ed, however any individual roommate will be of the same gender. Gort na Coiribe is self-catered and you will find many the convenient markets nearby.

  • Each flat has a fully-equipped kitchen, shared bathrooms, and living area with television and modern amenities. Self-service laundry facilities are available within the complex.
  • Telephones are located in every flat for flat to flat calls only; calling cards are required for phoning local and long distance. Broadband internet access is provided; however limitations may be imposed by Gort na Coiribe management.
  • Gym facilities are not available within the housing complex, however there is a gym on campus available at an additional cost. Payment is received at the gym.
  • Gort na Coiribe is located equidistant from the Galway city center and NUI Galway. You should expect a 15-20 minute commute (walking) to Eyre Square and campus.

Corrib Village

Corrib Village is self-catered student accommodation (for spring semester students) located just along the River Corrib. It offers newly refurbished flats and is ideal for those who enjoy the convenience of living on-campus. You should expect a 5-minute walk to the heart of the NUIG campus and a 20-25 minute walk to Galway city center. Corrib Village also offers a free shuttle bus service that runs during the day to the city center and back.

  • You will be living with Irish, International and American students. Each flat houses four to five students in shared bedrooms. Student flats may be co-ed, however any individual roommate will be of the same gender.  Single (non-sharing) bedrooms may be available on request but are limited, cannot be guaranteed and will incur additional costs.
  • Each flat has a fully equipped kitchen, shared bathroom and living area, with television and wifi; however limitations may be imposed by Corrib Village Management.
  • Corrib Village has its own convenient shop, common room, games room, study space, sports facilities and self-service laundry area on-site.
