For students joining us in the Fall, we are very excited to announce our events that will be on offer to you! We’ve been working hard to select some of the best experiences that we think will be a great introduction to your new home in the UK, from action-packed adventure weekends to theatre trips and city breaks!
Read on below for what we have in store. Event registration opens Thursday, 8 August at 12 noon (EST) in your Arcadia Passport. And, don’t forget, if an event is full you can add yourself to the waitlist to be notified automatically if more space becomes available.
Please note that all events depart from the Arcadia London Center unless stated otherwise. Students based out of London who intend to travel independently may submit a request for reimbursement of their travel up to £75. However this is not guaranteed as it is subject to group travel bookings in advance of the event.
How can you visit the UK and not take a trip to see Buckingham Palace? The residence of the Queen and Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, the palace is only open for a select period every year. You’ll get a chance to see the State Rooms, Ballroom, Grand Staircase, and part of the gardens with a self guided audio tour.
Price includes: Entry to Buckingham Palace.
Join us for a weekend in Wales, and immerse yourself in one of the top coastal destinations in the world. Enjoy an unspoilt, breathtaking landscape, amazing wildlife, Welsh castles and cathedral, awesome Atlantic ocean adventures and tasty food and drinks. Kayak into echoing sea caves, explore the smallest city in Britain and its twelfth century cathedral, visit Pembroke castle, surf on wild beautiful beaches, jump off cliffs into deep green pools as you explore by Coasteering, and relax in the evenings in a beautiful 5 star eco lodge. Join us for a guided tour of one of London’s most iconic landmarks. St. Paul’s Cathedral is a Grade I listed building, with the original church being built in 604AD. The dome is one of the tallest in the world, and it is a dominant part of London’s skyline, surviving the bombing of World War Two, and the modernisation of the surrounding city. This event takes place on a Friday afternoon, it is your responsibility to check for any academic clashes.
Price includes: Entry to St. Paul’s Cathedral, and guided tour of the building.
Join us this Fall for an enchanting trip to Rome, the Eternal City. Famous for its ruins and gelato, it is also the only city that contains an entire country - The Vatican City. Immerse yourself in history, culture, and a new language. We have built in a selection of activities into this trip, but have also built in free time so you can explore at your own pace.
This event departs on a Friday, it is your responsibility to check for any academic clashes. Please also note that it is your responsibility to make the journey to and from the London airports. Finally, if you wish to participate on this excursion you must be travelling with a Passport that allows you to enter Italy as a visitor OR already hold a valid Schengen Visa for travel.
Price includes: Round trip flight to Rome from London, accommodation, breakfast, a group evening meal, a walking tour of the city, entry to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Palatine Hill, entry to the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Vatican Museums, and a public transport pass in Rome.

In the lead up to Halloween, get ready for the story of Jack the Ripper! He is arguably one of Britain’s most famous figures, remembered for the havoc he wrought across the east-end of London at the end of the nineteenth century. Join us on this walking tour to retrace the steps of this notorious killer, learn about the history of the area, and realise the significance these events had for years to come. Please note that this event departs on a Friday, it is your responsibility to check for academic clashes.

This November we will be joining up with the Ireland and Scotland Arcadia centers for a weekend in Belfast, Northern Ireland. You’ll have a chance to see the Titanic Interactive Experience, the Giant’s Causeway, and get a guided tour around the city itself.

Price includes: Return flight to Belfast from London, hotel accommodation, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, dinner on Friday and Saturday, lunch on Sunday, entry to the Titanic Experience, Giant’s Causeway, and city tour guides.
On this day trip, our first stop will be Stonehenge (a World Heritage Site), followed by an afternoon in Bath, a beautiful and historic city dating back to the Roman times later made famous by resident Jane Austen. Check out the Roman Baths, the focal point of the city which has been in place for centuries. You will also get time to shop and explore the town center beforehand.

In the lead up to Christmas, immerse yourself in one of the season’s most classic tales. Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol was first published in 1843, but remains an important story to this day. For both literature students and thespians alike, this performance is guaranteed to get you into the Christmas spirit and allows you an insight into the world of British theatre.

Get into the Christmas spirit by ice skating at Somerset House! This beautiful building sits on the River Thames and is a stunning backdrop for twirling the time away. Once the skates are off, be sure to indulge in some festive mince pies and a glass of mulled wine!
