In the late 1980’s, the Foundation’s Scholarship Assistance Committee established a relationship with Beaver College’s Center for Education Abroad that continues with The College of Global Studies at Arcadia University. Arcadia Staff members identify qualified students who want to study in England and nominate them to the Scholarship Assistance Committee.
Since the inception of this scholarship program in 1988, the Society of St. George has awarded nearly $350,000 to students from the Philadelphia area studying in England with Arcadia University. To qualify, students must live in the Philadelphia area, intend to study in England, have a good academic record, demonstrate financial need and be of English descent. Over 100 students have received this prestigious award.
