Famous for its golden sand beaches and clear blue sea, Abel Tasman National Park has a coastal walk that is exquisitely beautiful and is a favorite area for kayak enthusiasts. (Victoria University of Wellington Spring students)
Picnic at Castle Hill
Come with us on a wonderful day trip to hike an hour up a gushing underground cave stream, using our headlamps to marvel at the smooth limestone walls. Then we drive to nearby Castle Hill (described by the Dalai Lama as ‘a spiritual centre of the universe’) to picnic up high on unique limestone formations as others around us are rock climbing and bouldering. On Yer Bike!
There is no better way to enjoy the arrival of spring than by cycling along the harbour to Portobello where we will visit the Otago University marine lab and learn about the giant squid and then munch on hot chips at a nearby pub. All that cycling is hungry work! (Otago students)
Walk Up Rangitoto
Nothing like a day on Rangitoto Island to feel alive. Enjoy the ferry ride out into the harbour and the trek up through lava fields to see the fantastic views of Auckland from the summit. (Auckland students)
Adventure in the Waikato
Explore glow worms in their natural habitat as you float down through caves with a wetsuit, rubber inner tube and a headlight, and then a wild day on the West Coast surfing at Raglan, NZ’s most famous surf beach. (Auckland students)
Surf Lesson
Time to get those wetsuits on and hit the surf! Head out to the beach for a surf lesson, before you know it you’ll be riding those waves. (Otago and Canterbury students)
Coffee Class
What is a flat white? A long black? A mocha? Learn about the origins of the beans and the ‘crop to cup’ process and how to properly taste a selection of coffees during a visit to one of Wellington’s most well known coffee roasteries. (Wellington students)

Come for a guided tour of the Weta Workshop and get some behind the screen glimpses into the creation of Middle Earth and the other cinematic universes they have created. You can even touch an orc! (Wellington students)
