St Catherine's College

St Catherine’s College, colloquially known as St Catz, was founded in 1962 making it one of the newest colleges at the University. The college, known for its striking 1960’s architecture, is located in East Oxford on the Cherwell River. St Catz offers the largest Visiting Student program in Oxford with a wide range of subjects available. The college holds about 900 students total: about 500 undergraduates, 400 postgraduates and up to 50 visiting (study abroad) students.

Academics

St Catz offers the widest variety of subjects of any Oxford college and students wanting to study English, History, Human Sciences, International Relations, Law, Mathematics, Politics and Psychology are encouraged to apply.

Is your subject area not listed above? St Catz also encourages students to apply for subjects that they are interested in or need for academic progression. Speak to your Program Manager for further details.

A minimum 3.7 GPA is required and courses are available to academic year, fall, and spring students. Preference is given to full academic year applicants.

  • Visit the St Catherine’s College Subjects Page for available departments and tutorials.
  • For advice from St Catz’s on selecting your tutorials and examples of tutorials taken by past study abroad students, visit the St Catherine's College Visiting Students Page.
    • Expand the ‘Subjects’ heading to view the advice. As you are applying with Arcadia, you do not need to follow the instructions under the ‘Applicants will need to submit’ heading.
  • Computer Science is hugely competitive. Applicants need to show strong writing skills and have a 4.0 GPA.
