St Anne's College

Founded in 1879 as The Society of Oxford Home-Students, St Anne’s College is one of the newer and larger colleges at Oxford. Located a 15-minute walk North of the city center, the college has plenty of green space among amenities such as a library, gym and coffee shop. St Anne’s holds about 750 students total: 450 undergraduates, 200 graduates and up to 30 visiting (study abroad) students.

Academics

At St Anne’s you can study the Humanities, Social Sciences and STEM subjects. Students wanting to study Classics or Music are encouraged to apply. A minimum 3.7 GPA is required and courses are available to academic year, fall (extended term), and spring students. Preference is given to applicants for the academic year and the spring.

  • Visit the St Anne’s Courses Page for available departments and tutorials.
  • St Anne's offers an extended Michaelmas (fall) term and extended Academic Year option for Humanities and Pre-Med students. This is required for Fall-only students.
    • Students enroll in a 4-credit Humanities course in English Literature, History of Art, or Politics & History. Fall students continue with two tutorials in Michaelmas term and Academic Year students proceed with typical enrollment across the remaining terms. This is available to students studying subjects in the Humanities, Social Sciences, or Sciences. More information here.
    • Pre-Med/Biochemistry students can select two September tutorials from five curated options focused in Biochemistry and Physiology (4-6 credits each). One or two tutorials may be compulsory depending on previously completed coursework. More information here.

St Anne’s encourage students to study one subject area so they benefit from the depth of study that differentiates the Oxford system from other universities.
