“This experience has changed me in so many ways. I have not only learned about myself, but the world through a broader lens. I feel like I have become more extroverted and confident as a result of being out of my comfort zone nearly every day. I have also made lifelong friends, both in and out of the program. I feel utterly blessed to have crossed paths with them. I love all the faculty and staff here.
I will also miss all of the culture here in Greece. Out of all the places I’ve traveled during my time here, Greece feels the most alive culturally and physically. Not to mention all the food I’ve had and freddo espresso.
My favorite trip here in Greece was without a doubt Meteora. It was early in the program, and we all went as a group. Not only was it probably one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen, it was the first time I felt really connected to everyone in the group.”

“I really enjoyed my time not only in Greece, but at Webster Athens. Immediately clicking with my roommates and other people in both the study abroad program, but also full-time students was a relief. Everyone was very welcoming. I absolutely love the atmosphere of the city. The people are kind, and it is easy to figure out how to get around. I took a variety of classes, but I found the Greek language class to be the most helpful. In Greek I, you learn the basics of greeting, ordering food and drinks, directions and how you are feeling. All of this was utilized quickly and frequently. The living arrangements were nice. The outings are a great opportunity to see and learn more about your surroundings. The faculty is helpful and are really interested in how you are enjoying your stay and the country. My roommates and others in the program did many activities and traveled a bit. We went to Patras to enjoy the Carnival season, which was a lot of fun and really recommended. Overall, my experience was great and I would suggest this program to everyone.”

“Studying abroad is a big decision and choosing the right country can feel overwhelming. I’m incredibly glad I chose Greece, and even more thankful it was at Webster Athens. During my semester abroad, I visited nine other countries, and while I enjoyed each of them, most of those places felt great to visit- not to live. Greece was different, in it felt like my home, and I’m glad I could call it my home. The pace of life, the people, the atmosphere- it clicked. Webster Athens made it better. The staff and faculty were welcoming and knowledgeable and were always there if I needed support. The Odyssey program offered off-campus excursions that I always looked forward to going on with my friends, because it was a chance to get out of the city and see the countryside. What made Greece really special were the people- not just at Webster, but all over. Whether I was talking to someone at a restaurant or asking for directions on the street, more than likely, I was met with kindness. Learning a little Greek, even just a few words, goes a long way. Most of the Greeks I met just wanted me to have a good time in their country. If you enjoy great food, great hospitality, and the chance to walk among ancient ruins, I can’t recommend Greece enough. It’s no longer a study abroad location, it’s home.”

“My study abroad experience has been nothing but the most amazing and memorable experience of my entire life. Going into study abroad in January I was definitely nervous as I have never done something like this. But now coming to an end it’s something I wish I would’ve done sooner. Greece is one of the most amazing countries in the entire world. The people, the culture, the food and the experiences were like no other in my entire life I’ve experienced. I have made lifelong friends with students that are also studying with me and being able to share some of the most incredible memories with them is also so cool. Overall, studying abroad lets you explore new cultures and make friends from around the world and learn exciting ways you cannot experience at home. It helped me grow personally by making me more independent and adaptable. Being able to travel to multiple countries while over there was one of my favorite experiences because not only am I learning about Greek culture but I’m learning about other countries cultures as well. Overall, setting abroad is a fantastic adventure that helps broaden your horizons, and in the end, it leaves you with the most unforgettable memories.”

“I absolutely loved my time here in Athens. The program did a wonderful job helping us settle and feel comfortable. If I ever needed help with something, I knew I could reach out and ask. This semester transformed me, and I will leave with so many stories and memories to share. I learned from a different culture, made life-long friendships, and grew in my independence. This will always be another home for me, and I already look forward to coming back to visit. Being located in the center of everything was so nice. I could walk to all the amazing things this city has to offer. I also loved how my classes helped me understand the culture I was in- my class about Greek Art and Archaeology, in particular. I am forever thankful for this program.”

“I think I have a unique perspective on this as someone who studied abroad for the second time, but I really appreciate this program. I think the program size was perfect because it gave you an opportunity to connect with the whole group and having a program advisor like Dina to help you dive headfirst into the culture and way of life was wonderful. Studying abroad to me is a time of self-discovery and transformation, and this program did such a wonderful job of providing guidance through that. I can only hope that going back to my regular life and campus can provide me with a fraction of joy like that.”
