Peter Leuner, Ph.D

Regional Director of UK and Ireland, and Director of Arcadia London Center

Dr. Leuner is responsible for overseeing all academic, administrative and business functions across the British and Irish offices. He also supports existing relationships with partners and explores new opportunities for meaningful collaboration in international education.

With more than 40 years of significant administrative, managerial and teaching experience in the field of international education, Dr. Leuner has served in a variety of academic and administrative posts; specifically Syracuse University, Richmond, The American International University in London, the Foundation for International Education and the American Institute for Foreign Study as well as numerous consultancies to a variety of international educational institutions and organizations.

Dr. Leuner has extensive managerial experience of both single center and multi-center programming at strategic, operational, curricular and extra-curricular levels. He has developed relationships and exchange arrangements with British universities and has fostered university-to-university partnerships in Italy, Turkey, France and Spain.

Dr. Leuner’s academic and professional qualifications include research-based management training via Harvard University’s Management Development Program and a Masters in Political Sociology from the London School of Economics and Political Science, awarded with Distinction.  He also holds a Ph.D. awarded by the University of London Institute Of Education.

His doctoral research analyzed international education discourse, policy and practice in market-based (U.S.) and public policy (E.U.) environments, culminating in a dissertation entitled, “Commitment to International Education: Structural influences and Actors’ Perceptions of International Education in the USA and the European Community.”

After several decades of activity at all levels of international education one of the constants for Peter is his enjoyment of direct student contact and enthusiasm engendered by their intellectual and personal journeys.
