I don't know about you, but food is an integral part of my day. I plan most of my existence around every current and upcoming meal. Even while I'm eating I'm thinking about the next time I'll be eating again.
Now, I wouldn't call myself a foodie. More often than not I would just call myself just hungry. So it's a good thing I know how to cook, and to enjoy doing so.
It isn't often that I take pictures of my food, to be perfectly honest. I start eating it too fast before I could even click the shutter. But out of the goodness of my heart--and strain to be hip--I've snapped a few photos just for you!
I know some of these recipes like I know my Netflix password--intimately and unforgettable. But a few others I needed a little inspiration for.
I am a big advocate for All Recipes, an amazing website for people to find and share recipes of any kind. From baked goods, to breakfast foods, to Chinese cuisine, to English finger foods, to candy, to quick-and-easy meals and everything else your hungry mind can think of. It's very helpful too if you're someone who wouldn't classify him or herself as a mastered chef. There is a whole category of recipes geared toward easiness and low hassle. I simply swear by AllRecipes. Its has yet to let me down.
In addition to that, there is another amazing website called My Fridge Food. This website specializes in offering recipes to the budgeting and low-on-ingredients hungry human. All you do is select the items you have at hand (or in your fridge) on their check list and they will generate a list of recipes or cooking possibilities for even the meager-est supply of ingredients. For example, if all you have/can afford is cheese and ramen you could make a recipe called the Ramen Grilled Cheese; don't believe me, well then check it out for yourself!
Finally, I would like to give a shout-out to a delivery service that is unique here to Wellington, New Zealand. For any of you who just don't have the time patience or money to go buying groceries once a week and making your own meals by hand, there is a take-out delivery service called Food Ninja. This service caters from McDonalds to KFC to Wagamama (a Japanese cuisine restaurant) to Aunty Mena (a vegetarian restaurant) to literally 20 or 30 more other restaurants and fast food joints in the city. I've used this service only once before and was very pleased with the promptness of the delivery and the ease of the process. Note that even though they may cater to all sorts of restaurants they may not deliver all of the restaurant menu items. Furthermore, there is a delivery charge calculated into the final price, so keep that in mind when purchasing from them.
As an end note I would like to say that this is the best delivery service I've utilized in Wellington and have a slight grudge against the pizza delivery services here because they are painstakingly picky and avoid delivering at all costs--they would rather the customer come pick up their orders.
But there you have it. Share these websites to save a university student life!
