T-Oigo is a small organization dedicated to helping children who have audio-based problems. Many of these small children are partially deaf and require a hearing aid or a cochlear implant to continue learning. I am lucky enough to have joined this organization and my job, as a volunteer, is to play and spend time with my designated child. However, the surprise is that I am only allowed to use English, which helps the child learn English as well. Many of these parents believe that their child is having a hard time learning Spanish and Catalan because of their audio deficiency; however, they still wish that their child learn English. This is a fun way to learn English without the stress of the classroom environment.
My child’s name is Mara and she is 6 years old. We often paint, draw, eat, and watch movies together. Sometimes, I even teach her piano. Last week, we watched the Disney movie “Frozen” in English, while eating dinner. It is an awesome opportunity to practice my Spanish as well. The parents do not speak fluent English so I speak to them in Spanish.

T- Oigo es una pequeña organización dedicada a ayudar a los niños que tienen problemas basados en audio. Muchos de estos niños son sordos y requieren de un audífono o un implante coclear para seguir aprendiendo . Yo tengo la suerte de haber unido a esta organización y mi trabajo, como voluntario, es jugar y pasar tiempo con mi hijo designado. La sorpresa es que sólo se me permite utilizar Inglés que ayuda al niño a aprender Inglés también. Muchos de estos padres creen que su hijo está teniendo dificultades para aprender español y catalán a causa de su deficiencia de audio, sin embargo, que todavía desean que su hijo a aprender Inglés . Esta es una forma divertida de aprender Inglés, sin el estrés del ambiente de la clase.
El nombre de mi hijo es Mara y ella tiene 6 años. A menudo nos pintamos , dibujamos , comemos, y ver películas juntos. A veces, incluso me enseño su piano. La semana pasada, vimos la película de Disney “Frozen ” en Inglés, mientras que comer la cena. Es una oportunidad increíble para practicar mi español también. Los padres no hablan Inglés, así que les hablan en español .
