Seeing More of Barcelona and Meeting More Friends!

This week has been the busiest week yet. My professors assigned many assignments and projects. Even though it is a lot, I actually enjoy doing it because these projects are more hands-on. For example, in our Catalan class, we have been connected to another student who goes to a school near us and majors in English. We have to contact our peer contact to do activities with them. Not only does it help us meet more locals, but it gives us the opportunity to know more about the culture of Barcelona!

My peer contact’s name is Paula. We met up at Un Bar, which is also a cafe. She is so nice! We talked about everything, from school to family to fun places to go (that is not a tourist location). Paula and I were at the cafe for about an hour and a half. After the cafe, we made plans to hang out next week! Thank you to both The College of Wooster and Arcadia!

The Arcadia program also took us on a tour in Gracia. Everywhere we looked were beautiful buildings. We also got the chance to see Gaudí’s first building that he built. He was an amazing artist. We also ate the best tapas ever! The “chipotle sauce” that it gives on the potatoes is just RIGHT! Yum. At Gracia, there are so many cafes, small shops and live music. How can you beat that combination? You cannot. I also got to feel the waters of the Mediterranean Sea! The sky was breathtaking, the air smelled like pure water and the sand was just right! It was unbelievably beautiful.

Even though I have a million and one things to do, I soak in every memory, laugh, and conversation that I have here. I learn something new everyday! Let’s see what I learn next week. (:
