I recently went on a trip that Arcadia planned to the Isle of Arran. This was a great trip! We were able to see many amazing features of the isle including various animals, including deer, sheep, horses, seals and even a peacock.
This trip started on a Friday afternoon as we made our way to the ferry in Ardrossan which took us to Brodick. We were all very tired once we made it to the hostel.
On Saturday we got up, ate breakfast and then set out on our next adventure. We had the choice to walk to the Machrie Moor Standing Stones or to King’s Cave. I decided to take the walk to King’s Cave which is right on the water and has stunning views! We then went to lunch, a brewery and distillery and later had dinner.
The next morning, some of us woke up early to watch the sunrise while standing next to Lochranza Castle, which was gorgeous (but very cold). After eating breakfast and having time to wake up a bit more, we traveled to Brodick Castle for some pictures and beautiful scenery. After the castle, we went to the ferry and went back to Ardrossan. Our next stop was the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum where we could walk around the museum, learn about Burns’ life, visit his family cottage, see Brig O’Doon and the Burns Monument, and read his poems and songs. Exhausted and content after the Burns Museum, we set back to Edinburgh. I took too many pictures to count, had tons of laughs and enjoyed the isle. Truly a great trip with some great people!
