While becoming a temporary Aussie, I have taken time out to explore the best restaurants Australia has to offer. I have to admit, I am a bit of a foodie; I enjoy all types of food and love trying new things. Because of that, it's easy for me to scope out different types of restaurant and trying cuisine I've never thought of trying and it was scary at first. Australian food is nothing like America. We like to load our food with tons of grease and calories while Aussie's like to keep things simple, and quite honestly that was the scary part.
The one restaurant that sticks out to me the most was called the Local Mbassy. They served brunch but there was nothing ordinary about it. No waffles with bacon and eggs or even French Toast with scrambled eggs and a side of fruit. I had something called a Shakshouka, never heard of it before but the menu convinced me that it could be nothing less than tasty. Besides, they were serving red velvet pancakes to other customers so the Shakshouka couldn't be that bad. It was a soup consisting of homemade salsa, potatoes, beef, fried egg and ricotta cheese.
Delicious was all I can say! Here's a snapshot of the other cuisine I indulged in in Aussie.
