I’m five days away from the adventure of a lifetime. Living and learning in London has been a dream of mine for years, but I can’t help but feel apprehensive. I was born and raised in Minnesota, so it felt natural to root my next four years in the land of 10,000 lakes.

The last two weeks of my life have been spent driving back and forth between home and campus to squeeze in every last moment with my friends. Which, I will admit, is about as good for my mental wellbeing as it is for my gas tank. It’s hard because I’m on the edge of something so wonderful, but the waiting is made even more difficult by watching my friends get back to their routines, knowing I won’t be able to (at least for the time being). But honestly, I know that London is exactly where I’m meant to be for the next few months.

I am SO excited to live in such a beautiful city with such a rich history while having the opportunity to see and experience new cultures throughout Europe. Also, the thought of taking the underground to class every day makes me feel super cosmopolitan and fancy and that’s just a thrill I can’t wait to experience firsthand.

I’ve been talking a lot with friends who have finished their study abroad experience and the number one piece of advice they give is to enjoy every moment because it goes by so fast. There’s so much I want to see and so much I want to do (stay tuned for a terrible reenactment at the Zebra crossing of Abbey Road).
