Creating a Supportive and Inclusive Community for Students Exploring Study Away Options
At Arcadia Abroad, our primary focus is establishing a welcoming and inclusive environment for students interested in exploring study abroad opportunities. We use the ZeeMee app to foster connections and provide a platform for students to interact with peers who share similar backgrounds, experiences, and interests. Our community welcomes students at every stage of the study abroad process – from inquiry to alumni status.
Here are some key aspects of this initiative:
- The Arcadia Abroad ZeeMee community is instrumental in connecting students and building a sense of community before they begin their study abroad journeys.
- In all our ZeeMee chats, we prioritize creating a safe and inclusive space where students can freely express themselves, knowing they will be respected and supported without judgment, shame, or discrimination.
- We encourage all students contemplating studying abroad to join our ZeeMee community. By engaging with like-minded individuals, students can gather valuable insights, establish connections, and feel supported throughout their study abroad decision-making process.
- The introduction of our new chat space, Cultural Horizons, is specifically designed for BIPOC students to connect, share experiences, and offer mutual support throughout the study abroad process.
- The Cultural Horizons chat is by invitation only. If you are interested in joining, please reach out to Bridget Vornholt at donoghub@arcadia.edu for an invitation.
By leveraging the power of technology and community-building, we strive to make the journey to studying abroad more enriching and connected for students from all walks of life.
