CHRISTMAS EVE

Christmas Eve or Nochebuena (literally translated as a” The Good Night”), is very important for the most of the spanish families. They join all together to have dinner, enjoying with all members of the family, some of them maintain the tradition of singing and playing some instruments such as the tambourine and the zambomba.

In the other hand, in the catalán tradition that night is less important than for spanish people. Catalans use to go to Midnight Mass and after that they used to hit  the “Caga Tió". (see  post of Arcadia Barcelona blog).

In the reality, it is the dinner that opens the whole Christmas festivities, so everybody is excited to join with family and Friends to start to celebrate with meals and drinks.

It is also true that  the weight of many meals will  be notice and at the end of the Christmas seasons, everybody will be wanting to arrive to the end of them to start with the normality, and the common comentary you will hear is: "I am going to sign up to the gym" and "I will start with a diet".

Happy Christmas Eve!
