The sites, people and culture of Scotland have inspired a wealth of artistic creations over the centuries. More specifically, the significance of Scottish photography has been the subject of a recent BBC article, which celebrated the life and work of Scottish artist and photographer, David Octavius Hill.
Octavius Hill's work is important and influential as it was the first photographic documentation of the working classes in the world. View his photographs and learn more about his work.
Photography continues to play an important role today in the experiences that Arcadia students have while abroad, serving as a poignant reminder of time spent on our programs. We invite you to share your photos with us and to check out our Instagram for images and new approaches to capturing life in Scotland. (If you're on Instagram, find us at 'arcadiascotland' and use #arcadiascotland).
