Make More Noise: Suffragettes In Silent Film

A selection of silent films from the BFI National Archive shows how suffragettes were portrayed on the cinema screen while their battles were still being waged on the streets outside.

George Jamesone: Life and Times

4 November, Aberdeen Maritime Museum, 12:30pm

Jenny Brown, a lead curator of history, talks through three generations of the Jamesone family. George Jamesone was Scotland's first portrait painter and came from an affluent family in Aberdeen

And Then There Were None

3-7 November, His Majesty's Theatre, 7:30pm or 2pm

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Agatha Christie Theatre Company, one of the author's best-selling thrillers is performed – a tale of murder on a remote island.

The camp face of Chatty Man proves his status as the King of bitchy comedy.

An Evening with Noel Fielding

16 November, Music Hall, 8pm

First solo live tour from the star of The Mighty Boosh and Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy. Expect a mix of Noel's unique brand of stand up comedy, live animation, music and some of Fielding's best-known TV characters.

Ceilidh with Shindig

27 November, Music Hall, 8pm

Traditional ceilidh with music from Shindig, one of the north-east's top bands.

Aberdeen Fireworks Display

5 November, Queen's Links, 6pm

The City of Aberdeen Fireworks and entertainments start with a charity firewalk and fire jugglers at 6.30pm followed by a spectacular fireworks display to music at 7.30pm.

Aberdeen Parkrun

Saturdays, Beach Esplanade, 9:30am

An informal weekly 5k run along the Beach Esplanade. Everyone is welcome, no matter how fast or slow (you're welcome to walk the route, bring your dog or push a buggy), so you can use it as a one-off fitness test, a chance to get some fresh air or come every week to try to beat your personal best time.
