As you prepare to study abroad with us, whether it be for the UL Summer, UL and UCD STEM programs, or the Arcadia Dublin Internship, anticipate a summer filled with learning, adventure, and unforgettable experiences. Before we get you excited about your programme, let's go in true Irish fashion and mention the weather!
Recently, the weather graced us with some lovely days, but as is typical in Ireland, the rain has returned, adding its own charm to our landscape. This is completely normal on the other side of the Atlantic! But fear not, this ever-changing weather is part of the Irish experience, offering its own unique beauty and opportunities for cozy moments indoors. It's a reminder to pack those layers, ensuring you're prepared for whatever the Irish skies may bring.
In about two weeks time our community-building orientation awaits, promising to kick-start your Summer in Dublin and Limerick with fun and adventure. From icebreaker activities to team-building exercises, you'll connect with fellow students as we celebrate the Arcadia Community in Ireland! We will offer practical tips for settling into life here and reminding you that by the time you are leaving, you will be calling Ireland home!
Throughout the summer, an exciting lineup of events awaits you. June brings Pride month, a time of celebration and solidarity. We'll join in the festivities with pride-themed events and activities, embracing diversity and inclusivity. Additionally, you'll have ample free time to explore Ireland's true gems from its historic landmarks to its stunning natural landscapes.
But beyond leisure, we're committed to providing enriching educational opportunities both inside and outside of the classroom. With the help of our experienced academic faculty, we will bring you on site visits to local businesses and cultural places providing you with hands-on learning experiences and a greater appreciation of Ireland's rich heritage.
So, to all our Summer 2024 students, prepare wisely, pack as best you can, read the material on culture shock, buy a raincoat and comfy shoes and do some googling on the basic things (Euro in Ireland, Sterling in Northern Ireland for example). Get ready to learn, explore, and create memories that will last a lifetime. Fáilte go hÉireann- Welcome to Ireland!
