Our Belfast student, Liz, and staff recently enjoyed a visit to the Grand Opera House in Belfast for a viewing of the King's Speech.
The Grand Opera House was established in 1895 and the beautiful building provided the perfect setting for the show. The King's Speech is a heart-warming story of one man’s struggle to overcome his personal affliction and, in his country’s darkest hour, deliver the now iconic speech broadcast across the globe to inspire his people.
It was a very enjoyable evening and the cast portrayed the story in a very simple yet striking manner. Liz especially enjoyed seeing the different traditions in between theatre shows in Northern Ireland and the United States in particular the classic half time offering of ice cream.
