This Friday, September 20th, will mark the 14th annual Culture Night across the island of Ireland. Venues and public spaces will open their doors to host free entertainment in an island-wide celebration of arts, heritage, and culture. Culture night is timed perfectly with our students’ arrivals, as most have been in the country now for at least two weeks and are ready to view the city from a deeper perspective.
A benefit of Culture Night is that it can be available to students studying in any location throughout Ireland. This could mean gaining free entry into the Cork Butter Museum, joining a ceili (a participatory celebration of traditional Irish dance and music) in Limerick, taking a beginner spoon carving workshop in county Clare, or attending a community conversation in a local cafe/art gallery in Galway. Perhaps attending a Belfast ukulele jam or touring the Abbey Theatre in Dublin is more your cup of tea. The options are endless and can appeal to everyone’s interests!
Culture night is definitely not one to miss. The country will be buzzing with excitement and entertainment, so we encourage everyone to take advantage of the free events! To see all of the events available throughout Ireland click here, and for Belfast specific events click here.
