When I checked the weather forecast for Northeastern University's weekend trip to Galway and the Cliffs of Moher it was not looking good!

But just as we began our walking tour of Galway on Saturday afternoon, the rain stopped, the clouds parted and the long awaited sun came out! I really enjoyed the walking tour; Galway is a great city with lots of hidden secrets and stories and our tour guide brought these to life with the help of the students acting skills!

Galway is all about the music, everywhere you go the sound of street performers and music spilling out of the pubs follows you. We had the rest of the evening off to explore the city, listen to music and have a bit of cráic.

Sunday was the big day! We left Galway on our tour bus bright and early, beginning our exploration of the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher. We visited so many things on the way; a castle, Corcomroe Abbey, a fairy fort and a portal tomb in the Burren. We stopped off for lunch in Doolin, a cute little village with brightly colored shops and an amazing chocolate shop!

After lunch was the big event, The Cliffs of Moher! As they say in Ireland ‘You couldn’t have asked for a better day for it!!’ and in this case that’s totally true. It was so sunny and clear, not a cloud in the sky, the sea was sparkling and not only could we see the Aran Islands- we could even see the houses on them!

I spent the best part of two hours lying on grass looking out at the view. –Perfection!!
