Our Spring semester offers a wide range of Co-Curricular Activities giving you the opportunity to experience all aspects of Irish life including physical activities, culture evenings, scenic walks all while experiencing and indulging in authentic Irish food and drink. We truly have a full range of activities for all to enjoy.
Please note the sign up deadline for all excursions is January 18th 2019. Don’t miss your chance, sign up early through your passport account! Each activity has a limited number of spaces available, so book as soon as possible! Students need to make their own way to each departure location.

This jam packed weekend begins with a trip to 2016’s World’s leading tourist attraction center, The Titanic Experience which brings to life the Titanic story through full-scale reconstructions and innovative interactive features. This is followed by a trip to the beautiful and picturesque Giant's Causeway on Saturday, stopping off at the Dark Hedges, Game of Thrones site. You will have free time in the City of Belfast and an opportunity to explore the well-known student venues across the city. We will end the weekend with a city tour on Sunday with a local academic, guiding you through the history of the 'Troubles' of Northern Ireland. We will visit Nationalist and Unionist areas, as well as stopping off at the Peace Wall.
Arcadia has a very exciting trip to London planned filled with fun & activities throughout the weekend. We fly out to London on Friday morning and head straight for the Churchill War Rooms. We will uncover the secrets hidden beneath the streets of Westminster in the underground nerve centre where Winston Churchill and his inner circle directed the Second World War. You will also have plenty of free time to visit iconic parts of London such as Buckingham Palace & Big Ben. Saturday’s trip takes us on a tour to Stonehenge & Bath. This leisurely paced full day tour visits two of England’s spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Sites with plenty of time to explore the wonderful sights and attractions of beautiful Bath.
This excursion brings us to County Kerry, known as ‘The Kingdom’. Killarney is a breath-taking place with variations of green you can only imagine. Muckross House, Gardens, and Traditional Farms represent the focal point and nucleus of Killarney National Park. This is Ireland's oldest National Park, and it includes the world famous Lakes of Killarney, as well as the mountains and woodlands that surround them. Come and see for yourself why it is voted Top 10 visitor attractions in Ireland.
Arcadia would like to invite you to spend an evening dinning in one of Dublin's most prestigious restaurants followed by a night at the theatre to witness the highly anticipated production of “The Country Girls” in one of Dublin’s most historic theatres, The Abbey. A notorious novel, banned, burned and decried by authorities of church and state when it first appeared in 1960.
The first published novel of an Irish woman writer and mother based in London who had already faced scandal following her marriage to an older man, Czech-Irish émigré, Ernest Gébler. The last ever series of Game of Thrones will air in 2019. What better way to commemorate all those hours you have spent fixated with Jon Snow! Arcadia would like to invite you along to see the filming locations from the world famous HBO Game of Thrones series. Not a fan? Fear not, you will be by the end of this trip and can return home to begin your journey of watching 8 amazing seasons! Still not convinced? This trip brings you through the rolling countryside of Northern Ireland and that in itself is not to be missed.
Let's get out of the city and head to the picturesque town of Kinsale. We will explore this unique town which has been at the center of Irish history since the first settlers came, the history of Kinsale is the History of Ireland. A town that is submerged in this much history, it is little wonder that the town has six heritage trails. Among the highlights is the 16th-century Desmond Castle, a three-story tower house built originally as a Custom House and used in Napoleonic times to house French prisoners of war. As well as this, you will get the opportunity to indulge in world famous food while being immersed in a truly historic experience.
On the Irish Food Trail you will get to experience the best Irish food, restaurants and pubs in Dublin. On this 3 hour long food walking tour, you will visit 3 Irish venues and taste 3 Irish dishes with your very own local guide.
