We have just wrapped up two more orientation sessions in the Dublin Center. Last week a group of students who will be attending the Burren College of Art arrived in Dublin. During their orientation they experienced a historical walking tour of Dublin, a student-staff traditional Irish breakfast, and a dinner and storytelling event in Dublin's oldest pub. The Trinity College and Dublin Parliamentary Internship students joined the BCA students at the storytelling event which was a great opportunity for them to meet other Arcadia students in Ireland.
We then welcomed the Spring semester UCD students to Dublin and began their orientation with a historical walking tour of Dublin. This tour began at Trinity College and ended at Christchurch Cathedral, visiting attractions along the way such as Dublin Castle and Temple Bar. During the orientation period they were introduced to Ireland's national sports, GAA, which includes gaelic football, hurling and handball. The students were briefly taught the rules of each sport and then had the chance to play! To end their day they attended dinner and a storytelling event in a 900 year old pub, the Brazen Head. The BCA and UCD students are now moved into their accommodation and we look forward to seeing them at Arcadia events throughout the semester.
