Summertime is here, but so are your summer academic papers! Where can you go to study in a new city? Read on for some suggestions that’ll save you hunting down a good spot, and may even take you to a new neighbourhood…

 Regent’s park & Primrose HiLL

Writing al fresco - why not! When the weather is fine, there’s nothing better than spending some quality time outdoors in one of London’s many parks. Regent’s park has a bit of everything, including some quieter spots where you can get a great view across the city, spot a dog or two and knuckle down to write those papers.

Southbank Centre

Venture south of the river all in the name of a study space?! I can assure you it’s worth it! As well as ample space inside and in the many cafes around the Southbank Centre, you are also in a great location for evening festivities. During summer the Underbelly comedy & music festival takes place there, providing some quality switch off time too.

The British Library, London

Located walking distance from King’s Cross Station and home to over 170 million items, The British Library is one of the best locations for studying in central London. It’s free to enter and use the desk areas, you can even register for a Reading pass, by getting a letter from Arcadia, to have full access to their collections and services.

The Wellcome Collection

A museum displaying the medical items and oddities collected together by notable pharmacist Sir Henry Wellcome, the Wellcome Collection houses a beautiful library with great nooks for studying. There are also great free exhibitions, two cafés, luggage storage and a Blackwell's bookshop.

Senate House

Flashback to orientation! Remember this place? It is the library hub for all University of London institutions and as an Arcadia student you too have exclusive access to Senate House. After showing your red Arcadia card at the membership desk, you’ll be able to take advantage of the serene library space and wealth of resources. 

Last, but certainly not least….

The Arcadia London Center!

Biased perhaps, but it’s not untrue to say that we have a great study space available to our students, whether you are based at our Center or studying at another British Institution.

With a computer lab, free printing, a student lounge with a fridge, microwave, and comfortable sofas, as well as lots of classroom space, the London Center is a great place to study. 

You can also drop into our Writing Center sessions, which are led by one of our senior faculty members. They will be able to help you with editing your final papers, formulating a thesis, or how to best get your ideas onto paper during an exam.
