The Oxford Literary Festival is taking place from the 22nd to the 30th of March. This coincides perfectly with our day trip to Oxford, but don’t despair if you did not secure a place on that trip. If you are based in London, Oxford is not far away, nor is it too expensive to reach. So, if you see something on the Festival's events calendar that you would like to attend, there is no reason why you cannot.
For those of you coming along on the trip, you will have free time from 1pm onwards, so if there is something you wish to attend between 1 and 4pm, you can go right ahead and book.
All information about the festival can be found here. There is a fantastic line up of authors and events, but we would like to draw attention to the talk delivered by Malorie Blackman and Shami Chakrabarti. At 2pm on Saturday 29th they will lead a one hour session discussing writing for young people, and human rights. Shami Chakrabarti is Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University. Malorie Blackman is an award winning author and children’s laureate. Kimberley Aparisio, our Student Services Officer for First Year Programs, will be attending the 2pm session, so feel free to join her if you wish to go! Just remember to pre-book your ticket, and record your confirmation number.
If you have any questions about the festival, whether you are coming on the trip or not, please do contact the Student Life Office. Natalie Crown is a lover of all things books, particularly books for a young adult audience, and she would be happy to talk, talk, talk about it.
In the meantime why don’t you check out her first novel on Goodreads or Amazon. Her book tour is currently ongoing, featuring guest posts, interviews and book reviews. You can follow that here.
