The Arcadia London Center is proud to congratulate our Spring semester student Samantha McCarthy who was awarded the King's College Study Abroad Excellence Scholarship. Samantha is currently a student at the College of Charleston and received the award for her fantastic blog posts about what life at King's College is really like.  

Through Samantha's time at King's College she was able to grow both academically and personally. She came to London with certain preconceived notions (like it's always raining!), which she found out were not true! Her blog posts also highlight the benefits of having a longer commute to campus and how it helped her get to know different parts of London. Many students could benefit from reading Samantha's posts, as they demonstrate how easy it is to get involved through your Student's Union. Samantha participated in volunteering opportunities through King's College, which helped her to acclimate. She also took advantage of her free time by exploring London and all it has to offer.

I expect to come out of this semester more cultured, more confident, and with a refreshed excitement to learn. I think that anyone who is awarded this incredible opportunity would too. I strongly encourage any student who is committed to learning, academics, and new experiences to study at King’s. I can already see the ways this opportunity has changed my life and I cannot imagine a way that it would not change yours too.
