I was born and raised in the beautiful Blue Mountains, just west of Sydney, New South Wales, Ever since I could remember, I have always been interested in languages and other cultures. These interests catapulted me from my humble town to a school trip overseas and eventually backpacking around Europe and South America soon after high school. Through these travels, I had the privilege of living in England, Argentina and Brazil.
After three years of living and working in tourism in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, it was time to pursue my studies. This brought me back to Australia, but this time, I would call Brisbane home for the next seven years.
In Brisbane, I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and Spanish at The University of Queensland. During my studies, I founded Dale, a Spanish conversational group designed to encourage students to practise their verbal language skills regardless of their level of fluency. The aim was to just speak, make mistakes without fear of ridicule, and form connections with their peers.
From 2020 - 2022, I joined the Arcadia Abroad team in Australia as the Student Services Assistant working closely with the Student Services Coordinator in Queensland to support our Brisbane-based students at UQ, QUT, Bond and Griffith Universities.
From 2022, I spent the following three years as the Student Central Coordinator at The University of Queensland, where I managed a diverse team of domestic and international student casuals. As the first point of contact for students seeking academic and mental health support, I discovered my passion for working one-on-one with students—offering an empathetic ear and connecting them with the resources they need to thrive during their studies.
Now back in New South Wales, I am excited to return to the Arcadia in Australia team once more. For me, Arcadia Abroad marries my two passions: student support and traveling; and I cannot wait to meet and support our intrepid students.
