Maria Jesus received a MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Granada. In 2012 she obtained her PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Granada and became a full professor in 2024. During her PhD training she held research grants in Texas (Health and Science University), and Coimbra, Portugal (School of Medicine), and completed a postdoctoral stay in Rome (University of Tor Vergata, School of Biology). She has been a member of the Liquid Biopsy group at Genyo-Pfizer research center since 2012, and has been leading her own research group BIO-354 since 2019. Her main research topics are the searching of non-invasive biomarkers in urological tumors. She also teaches several undergraduate- and graduate-level courses at the University of Granada.
