Camille Reid-Barron found her home in The College of Global Studies as the Student Engagement Lead based in Dunedin, New Zealand. This is because Camille’s passion has always been to support international students, and in this role, she is able to do just that. She ensures our students feel supported throughout their stay and have the best possible experience while in New Zealand.
Camille joined the team in March 2025 with over 13 years of experience in various student support capacities, including managing halls of residence. She also worked as a psychology lecturer for 5 years, and so her familiarity with both the academic and support services aspects of tertiary life better positions her to support students. Camille holds a PhD in Psychology from the University of Auckland, and a MA in Psychology and a PGDip in Arts from the University of the South Pacific, where she also received an award for the most outstanding results (joint award).
A Jamaican native, Camille loves to listen to music, travel, solve word puzzles, and will continue challenging herself to nurture plants despite their determination to wither under her care. Camille is also very family oriented, and enjoys doing life with her wonderful husband, two charming sons, and her adorable Shih Tzu.
