Abby Duncan joined the College of Global Studies in 2025. She graduated with honours in Business Management in 2021 and went on to complete a Master’s in Global Business in 2023, a programme conducted across three institutions: the University of Glasgow (Scotland), the University of Victoria (Canada), and Chulalongkorn University (Thailand).
During her undergraduate studies, Abby undertook a one-year placement in 2019 as an Academic Support Assistant with the NU Immerse programme within the Global Department at Northeastern University in Boston, where she specifically supported study abroad students. Since then, her passion for cross-cultural communication and intercultural challenges has continued to grow, leading her to focus on this subject throughout her master's studies. She further explored these themes in her master’s thesis, which concentrated on cross-cultural communication and negotiation with a focus on Chinese cultural norms.
In 2023 and 2024, Abby worked with University College Dublin (UCD) and Northeastern University as a Student Success Coordinator, supporting study abroad students. In her spare time Abby loves to travel.
