I HAVE RECEIVED A SCHOLARSHIP FROM ARCADIA. HOW WILL THIS SCHOLARSHIP BE AFFECTED IF THE PROGRAM MOVES TO PARTIAL OR FULL ONLINE DELIVERY OF COURSES?

Arcadia is committed to maintaining our regular scholarship program, including Arcadia Abroad scholarships, for individual students and institutional programs. Awards for Fall 2020 will apply regardless of whether we deliver our programs completely in-country, completely on-line, or through a combination of both modes. Arcadia Abroad scholarships are no longer applicable and will not be awarded for partner programs for Fall 2020 that Arcadia has suspended.

Health, Safety and Security:

HOW IS ARCADIA MONITORING AND EVALUATING WHETHER A PROGRAM CAN OPERATE ON-SITE?

Our Health and Safety team in the U.S., along with our resident directors and on-site staff, are closely monitoring the conditions in each of our host countries as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves. Arcadia will only resume on-site programs when it is reasonable to do so and we are confident the program can be completed abroad as planned. Our considerations include:

  • The ability for free movement in and out of the host country, as well as resumption of predictable flights
  • Status of community transmission of COVID-19, availability of testing, and contact tracing
  • Local governmental plans, recommendations and and progress toward reopening in each country
  • Government advisory levels and advice from our security assistance company, International SOS

HOW IS ARCADIA PREPARING TO PROMOTE STUDENT WELL-BEING IN ON-SITE INTERN PHILLY PLACEMENTS?

Our teams are engaged in an extensive planning process to ensure we, and our partner employers, are prepared to offer students the most effective support possible in the new normal of living with COVID-19.

  • Intern Philly on-site in Fall 2020 is designed to promote social distancing in line with local requirements.
  • All students in Arcadia-arranged housing will be guaranteed a single bedroom, and we are working to ensure the same standard with overseas partner institutions.
  • We will have protocols in place to support students through two weeks of self-quarantine or isolation should it be required at any time during the semester. This support will include food delivery, online course access, etc.
  • Student events and excursions will be delivered online.
  • We will increase the frequency of scheduled professional cleaning for all Arcadia buildings as needed and determined by local professional guidelines.

WHAT DO I NEED TO CONSIDER AS I PREPARE FOR AN ON-SITE EXPERIENCE?

Our ability to promote student well-being relies as much on your actions as it does on our preparedness. Your ability and willingness to be flexible and act as a responsible, socially-conscious global citizen is required for a successful experience more than ever.

As an Intern Philly placement participant, you will be expected to:

  • Immediately report to Arcadia staff if you’ve been exposed to COVID-19 or are exhibiting symptoms, and stay home from class or program activities.
  • Practice social distancing at all times.
  • Carry and wear a mask as required or recommended.
  • Comply with all local laws or restrictions that may be introduced in relation to COVID-19.

Additionally, we've outlined expectations for students traveling abroad this fall.

Our program managers and Health and Safety Team are available to provide additional support if you or members of your family have questions. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with your concerns.
