Sílvia Serra was born and raised in Catalunya. She studied Clinical Psychology in Ramon Llull University. She has engaged in postgraduate studies in Cognitive-social Psychotherapy, has an MA in Tourism Management from the University of Girona and an MBA in Innovation from University Polytechnic of Barcelona. Her research is focused in the image of Barcelona among American students. She has been living and working in different countries where she has gained and understanding of the multicultural experience of living and studying abroad, which is reflected in her work. She has extensive experience in teaching languages and coordinating language faculty in different countries. In the Fall of 2005 she joined Arcadia as a Spanish language teacher and a Spanish language coordinator. Nowadays, she continues to coordinate the Spanish language program, works to develop new curricular and co-curricular initiatives, and is responsible for the oversight of the daily operations of the Barcelona Center.
