Alex Brattell has been a visiting lecturer in British art colleges and universities since 1996. He is a fine art and commercial photographer who has worked for many major publications including 14 years as a freelancer for The Sunday Telegraph newspaper.
His silver gelatin darkroom prints exploring states of mind, perception and human nature, 'an ongoing psychological reportage', form a continuous thread through his career and have been widely exhibited. Brattell started photographing in 1981 for the post punk Liverpool music & arts fanzine Breakout. He currently works as a photographer in the arts, media and hospitality industries and teaches photography at Arcadia University's London Study Centre and University Centre Hastings.
