Spring Events for Queensland

This Spring 2020 we have some amazing adventures on offer for our Queensland students traveling Down Under!

Welcome Meal

Meet Arcadia staff and the other students for a welcome meal to start your semester. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to have their input into what cuisine they would like to experience in Australia. From an authentic Australian BBQ at the beach to an Australasia banquet, the choice is yours!

Coffee Catch Up

Catch up with your student co-ordinator on campus for a coffee on them! This is a great opportunity for you to catch up with other Arcadia students. Chat about how your semester is going, ask questions, and find out what events are happening around your area and at your university.

Free Tropical Island Weekend Excursion, Stradbroke Island

Enjoy a free trip to a tropical Australian island oasis. North Stradbroke Island, or A.K.A “Straddie”, is the second largest sand island in the world! Full of wild-life (like sea turtles and koalas) and island adventure activities, this little slice of paradise is sure to impress!

On this excursion you will have the opportunity to swim in the turquoise blue Coral Sea, sand-board down the islands sand dunes, Kayak on the Coral Sea or Brown Lake, spot sea turtles and dolphins hiking the spectacular Point Lookout gorge and coastline, and rejuvenate your skin by bathing in the tea-tree leaf soaked Brown Lake.

Immerse yourself in the islands indigenous culture and to learn from the Quandamooka people, the traditional owners of the land. From painting and learning how to throw a Boomerang, to learning about and partaking in traditional ceremonial dances, you will discover all there is to know about the Aboriginal people in this part of Australia.

This excursion is action packed from beginning to end and one of the best opportunities to see Australia in all of its glory. A weekend not to be missed!

Mt Tamborine Day Trip

Mount Tamborine is busting with so much to do and see! This hidden gem offers a huge range of eats and treats like coffee, gourmet cheeses and fudge, to beer and wine tasting. On this excursion you will have the opportunity to swim in waterfall swimming pools, engage with Australian wildlife, hike through the rainforest, and tour glow worm caves.

This day trip includes transport, lunch and snacks, a guided rainforest and waterfall walk, a glow worm tour, and sampling some of the delicious foodie treats that Mt Tamborine has to offer.

Seats are limited to 23 students so get in quick!! This is a truly special and unique location that you may not otherwise have the opportunity to see. Some students from last year rated this as their favourite excursion while here in Oz so DON'T MISS OUT!!

Take 3 For The Sea

Help to keep Australia’s beaches beautiful by joining us for #Take3ForTheSea. Come for a walk along the beautiful and famous Australian golden sanded beaches and make a difference to the Australian sea and land wildlife by picking up rubbish. Plus, if enjoying a day at the beach with friends and getting involved in a great cause isn’t enough, also enjoy an ice-cream on us. Ice-cream never tasted so good!

Farewell Meal

Celebrate your time in Australia with a free farewell meal with your friends and Arcadia staff member. A perfect time to reflect on all of your special experiences throughout the semester, share stories and laughs, and receive a special goodbye from your Australia Arcadia contact.
