If you want to experience Spain and its multi-faceted culture, while improving your Spanish language both inside and outside the classroom, this program is for you. The Arcadia Granada Center offers this innovative study abroad program in cooperation with the Universidad de Granada and its world-renowned Centro de Lenguas Modernas (CLM).
You will take a Spanish language course the level of which is determined by a language test during orientation at the CLM. In addition, you can choose from a wide variety of courses, some taught in English, others in Spanish such as Spanish culture, art, history, politics, economics, business, music, geography and more.
You’ll also develop an in-depth appreciation and understanding of Spanish culture, history and way of life through the many lively excursions and enriching on-site study experiences organized by enthusiastic faculty and staff at our Granada center.
Immerse yourself in Spanish language and culture: The CLM is one of the best university institutes in the world for students seeking to learn or improve their Spanish and learn about Spain. Its setting in Granada is perfect – an historic small, friendly city filled with Spanish and international students.
Environmental Studies Option: You can take up to 3 Environmental Studies courses offered in English at the Arcadia Granada Center. Learn why Spain is considered one of the world’s leaders in green policy and technology. Classes are taught by preeminent faculty and industry leaders in the environmental studies disciplines, and include fascinating excursions to sites of interest throughout Andalucía.
Internship opportunity: Intermediate and advanced language students taking a full course load at the CLM can choose to gain professional experience in educational, Non-Governmental Organizations, non-profits and business settings through a 45-hour internship program. It includes a 15-hour academic seminar to reflect on the experience with your instructor.
Pre-session Spanish language: month-long intensive 3-credit course available before the program start date for an additional fee.
