The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is a renowned institution of music, drama and dance situated in the heart of downtown Glasgow. Known for its quality of instruction and the talent of its students, the RCS works directly with a range of institutions on mentoring and joint projects, including the following: Scottish Opera; Scottish Ballet; Scottish Chamber Ensemble; National Theatre of Scotland; National Review of Live Art; Royal Scottish National Orchestra; BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra; Playwrights' Studio, Scotland.

RCS Students have performed at a number of prestigious venues in the recent past, including The Royal Albert Hall, Shakespeare's Globe and numerous Theatres in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Additionally, they have done work with tours to China, France and America. Famous alumni include James McAvoy, David Tennant, Robert Carlyle, James Fleet and a wide range of other award-winning actors, musicians, directors, writers and dancers.

Appropriately situated in Glasgow, which is home to many of the best art galleries and museum collections in the UK and serves as the base of many national companies, including the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Opera, Scottish Ballet, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and The National Theatre of Scotland.
