Victoria University of Wellington offers several different accommodation options. Refer to the information below to guide you in selecting your preferences. All options are self-catered and fully furnished.

Mid-way between the main campus (Kelburn) and downtown Wellington, Everton Hall apartments are within a short walking distance to each. With almost 200 students, Everton has a mostly Kiwi (New Zealander) population, so this is your best option if you’d like to live with local students! Residents enjoy a large common room with table tennis, pool table and basketball hoops, and social events are held regularly throughout the semester.

Stafford House is a high-rise building containing 2-3 bedroom apartments in downtown Wellington (about 15 minutes from the Kelburn campus) housing over 300, mostly international, students. Residents often gather for social and sporting events in the large common room. With on-site staff, fewer bedrooms per apartment, and policies limiting visitors and monitoring apartment cleanliness, Stafford is a good option for students who are looking for a quieter, more structured living environment.

The Te Kotahinga option consists of fully furnished houses that are dotted around the outer edges of the Kelburn campus. Most houses have a Kiwi host, who will be able to provide you with valuable information about student life in Wellington and New Zealand life in general. Preference is given to international students and offers mostly single rooms with some twin-shared places.

At Wai-te-ata you will find 4-5 bedroom apartments located close to the Kelburn campus. Due to a lack of common areas, organized social activities for the community at Wai-te-ata are generally impromptu events and do not occur regularly. The student population of Wai-te-ata is primarily international students.
