Flexible, Broad Course Offerings

At the thriving University of Ulster, you can choose from two campuses in Belfast or Jordanstown, which is just a short bus ride from Belfast city. You'll find a wide variety of high-quality course offerings in the humanities, business and management, engineering, information technology, life and health sciences, and social sciences.

If you want to take particular advantage of your time spent in Northern Ireland, the university offers a large number of engaging courses in politics and peace and conflict studies.

Your distinctness as a North American student will be valued and welcomed, and you’ll spend many memorable hours comparing and contrasting lifestyles, cultures and goals at this energizing university.

  • To maximize your study time and social opportunities, you should pursue all of your coursework on one campus. Most classes are taught in a lecture format, with an emphasis on supplemental tutorial sessions. For a full-time course load, you can expect to take about three courses per semester or term.

  • Choose from 21 societies at Jordanstown campus (debating, power society, speech and language therapy, marketing)  and 10 societies at Belfast (such as Digital Art, Fashion and Textiles, Graphic Design, Christian Union). Students at both campuses may use the world-class sports facilities at the Jordanstown campus.

  • The Jordanstown campus is also home to the Sports Institute of Northern Ireland, a partnership between the University and Sport Northern Ireland.

I think the Irish people really are the nicest people in the world. They made me feel welcome and also reminded me not take myself or anything too seriously. ”
