SOAS, University of London is home to a number of Regional Centers of study such as: the Center of Contemporary Asia and the Caucasus, the Center of Near and Middle Eastern Studies and the Center of South Asian Studies. You'll have access to the SOAS library, which houses close to one million volumes in more than 400 languages and is considered the United Kingdom's national library for Asian and African studies.

A full-time course load normally includes four courses per semester. At SOAS, you can expect a faculty-to-student ratio of one to twelve. Teaching is conducted primarily through lectures, seminars and tutorials, which are supplemented by language laboratory work where appropriate.

Finally, you'll benefit from SOAS' membership in the University of London system, which is made up of more than 50 colleges and institutes throughout London. As a student who attends a member college, you can use the libraries and facilities of most member colleges or institutes.

You'll also be welcome to use the system-wide University of London Student Central. In addition to bars, restaurants and an entertainment venue that attracts major bands and comedy acts, you'll find the union equipped with shops, a fitness center and weights room, health spa, squash and badminton courts, and swimming pool. Student Central provides additional opportunities to meet and socialize with students from the many colleges and institutes that make up the University of London system.
