A popular venue for Arcadia students, Weerona College provides an excellent opportunity to live in a close-knit college. Within fifteen minutes walking distance to campus, you will live in shared rooms. You will also take part in a variety of social events offer by the college which include regular Sunday barbecues and even a masquerade ball. If you’re so inclined, you can join one of the sports teams which competes against other halls. As part of your meal plan, you will eat with the other residents in the dining hall. Outside of set meal times, you can prepare snacks in kitchenettes located throughout the residence. Residents can also take advantage of the GK Shuttle and the Gong Shuttle which provide service to campus.
One of fifteen affiliated International Houses worldwide, International House Wollongong offers accommodation in single and shared bedrooms with communal bathroom facilities. In addition to a cafeteria, game room, television room and study rooms, International House also offers soundproof music practice rooms, all within a 10-15 minute walk to campus. A range of social activities are offered, often with a focus on international and diverse cultures. As part of your meal plan, you will eat with the other residents in the dining hall or enjoy al fresco dining in the courtyard. Located just north of the city centre and close to the beach, Campus East is a popular residence for American study abroad students. Campus East is the largest of all the student residences at Wollongong University, housing over 600 students. Campus East is located about 15-20 minutes away from the University, however residents can make use the free Gong shuttle to get to the campus.
Most of the students at Campus East live in apartments made up of 3-5 single bedrooms with a shared bathroom and kitchenette. There are some self catered options available (but these are limited).
Campus East is an older style complex, the rooms vary in size and shape. Campus East provides a flexi meal plan, which means that residents load their own money onto a meal card which they then swipe each meal. This means that students are only paying for meals that they eat. Many students subsequently chose to have breakfast in their rooms and then use the cafeteria for dinner, coffees etc.
Conveniently located within walking distance of the Wollongong city center, Keiraview provides self-catered accommodation in single rooms with an en-suite bathroom. You will be able to prepare your own meals in fully equipped communal kitchens and can relax in the outdoor courtyard and barbecue area. Keiraview is around 15-20 minutes to campus and residents can take advantage of the GK Shuttle which provides service to the university.
Recently renovated and expanded, Kooloobong Village is set amid a bushland setting on the edge of Mount Keira. This self-catered option is ideal if you prefer a more independent style of living. You will live in either a studio unit with your own bathroom and kitchen or a 4-5 person apartment with private bedrooms and shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. In addition to preparing your own meals, you will have use of laundry facilties and be able to take advantage of common areas on site including barbecue facilities, outdoor recreation areas and a communal games room and lounge. Located on the edge of campus, Kooloobong Village is within a five minute walk of most academic buildings.
Conveniently located in the heart of the city, within a fifteen minute walk to Wollongong’s main beaches, Marketview offers hotel-style accommodation in modern, air conditioned, single bedrooms. Each room has a private bathroom and fully equipped kitchens are available on each floor where you will be able to prepare your own meals. In additiona to the cafe on site, supermarkets, shops and restaurants are within a short walk of the complex. Residents can also take advantage of the GK Shuttle which provides service to campus.
