Multicultural learning and global leadership teaching in a Sydney suburb
Macquarie University, ranked 9th most international university in the world, prides itself on being a vibrant, diverse and innovative university where multicultural inclusion underlines every course of study. Its spacious and lush campus hosts 38,000 students, over 12,000 of whom are international.
Located in suburban Sydney, within commuting distance of the Central Business District, Macquarie's strong Faculty of Arts enjoys particular renown in psychology, linguistics, media-related units, art history, anthropology, and Australian and Aboriginal studies. Courses in Accounting and Finance are also popular and are strengthened by the presence of the Graduate Accounting and Finance Centre. In the Faculty of Education, the University provides study abroad students with the opportunity to enroll in studies in Early Childhood Education.
There are over 120 societies and 35 sporting clubs, including the Sport and Aquatic Centre, which houses indoor and outdoor pools and a gym and squash, badminton, basketball, volleyball and netball courts.
Macquarie has a great Global Leadership program in which study abroad students have the opportunity to get involved in networking, business, and workshops and will receive a certificate upon completion.
Downtown Sydney is only 30 minutes away by train.
What I value most is my introduction to the Aboriginal culture. It brought an awareness to my attention of cultural differences. ”
